Hello, Oasis

Weird. I actually MISSED this dumb mountain and the mounds of papers that pile up, begging to be graded.

I live at that lake, nestled in the arms of the mountains.

Four days of school to this week and then, Friday night, I hop on a plane to a wedding in Kentucky. Freshly pressed, my new dress hangs on the door of my closet with my new shoes nestled in the curve of the skirt. I blink at it, wondering what this outfit will see. I have no way of knowing what lies in store this weekend. My heart--pounds? flutters? shrieks--in anticipation, nerves, premature fatigue, and ...

Something else entirely.

Wait for me, Future. I'm not ready for you yet.

In other news, my dinner tonight consisted of pasta, ranch dressing, tobasco sauce, and refried beans. All mixed together.

I forgot to go "grocery" shopping before heading up the mountain. I better not starve this week. Money's hard to come by these days. Therefore, so is food. I sacrificed the non-essentials. :-P Just kidding. But it came down to: pay for gas, or buy groceries. I figured, if I don't pay for gas, I don't get up the mountain. Pointless to be at the base of a mountain with a car full of food.

Talk about Roughing It.
