I cannot believe this is happening. Two days ago I was wasting away, crying my insecurities out and praying for a miracle.

I got. My. Miracle.

SO: the details: I have to take the CBEST (ew) but all I have to do is pass it (I hope it's easier than it sounds), I start around February 12 and go til May 29th, it's a group of gorgeous 8th, 9th, and 10th graders, I'll be teaching Language Arts (mostly teaching them how to write and structure essays and analytically discuss literature--all three of my specialties) and Social Studies (Geography--I'm screwed but I have a whole manual haha--and some other history things). Ultimately, they needed someone who can give these kids the writing skills they need to succeed.

Ok, so next week sees me in Fresno, filling out paperwork with the Education people down there, and fingerprinting, the works. Then the CBEST is the beginning of February. And I start just after that.

The community up here is full of Life and Joy. Tomorrow I'm going to spend some time with a bunch of the staff people up here--Emily, the beautiful woman whose class I'm covering and her husband have invited me to come get to know everyone!


So much for the "recluse writer"! (thank goodness; I was getting lonely).

As the snow begins to thaw, I launch into my next adventure.

My life is so much better when I let 'Someone Else' take the reigns.
